In iOS 9 and OS X 10.11 will be a new font from the Apple Watch

Apple intends to move the font from the Apple Watch in the new operating system iOS 9 and OS X 10.11. On Wednesday reported 9to5Mac, which cites informed sources in the company.

Long time Apple used in their OSes Helvetica. In 2014, with the release of iOS 7 and OS X Yosemite, the new standard was Helvetica Neue. And now we are expecting another metamorphosis. In iOS 9 and OS X 10.11, which will be presented June 8, will be used by default San Francisco Display – main font of the interface of the Apple Watch.

“According to sources close to Apple, the company intends to change the default font in iOS and OS X in San Francisco with the aim to refresh the interface of their software platforms. Some engineers are speaking out against this decision, because this font looks blurry on devices without Retina display”.

Apple is gradually moving its equipment to the new font, not only at the software level. In March, the font made its debut on the keys of the new 12-inch MacBook with Retina display announced at the Spring conference Forward. San Francisco replaced the sans serif font VAG Rounded, which existed in Apple laptops for 16 years.
