One of the key advantages of the mobile platform Apple over Android has always been considered relatively fragmented. But it has less to do with any shortcomings of the latter, but with the fact that the “phones” produces many manufacturers who independently determine the version installed in such platforms, whereas all the gadgets running iOS are released solely by Apple.
It is not surprising that already in early October, only three weeks after the debut of iOS 9, this operating system was installed on 57% of compatible devices. Towards the end of October, its share has increased to 61%. And by mid-November, Apple can boast of the increased presence of iOS 9 at the level of 67%. It is noteworthy that a year ago, two months after the release of iOS 8, it was installed only on 60% of compatible devices.
Apple managed to increase the total number of installations of iOS 9 with the release of fresh update. In iOS 9.1 adds over 150 new stores with expanded support for Unicode 7.0 and 8.0, and the Live Photo was able to stop the “live” photo in case iPhone raise or lower.
The proportion of 67% is a good result and convinces the skeptics in the positive dynamics of the development of the Apple platform, because for the past year, the number of sold devices increased and the number of supported models has not decreased. It is also worth noting that at the moment we are testing iOS 9.2, which can be set as the developers and participants in the beta program Apple.
As for iOS 8, its market share currently does not exceed 24% and the earlier edition of the Apple operating system accounts for only 9% of the market.
