On the day of the presentation of the “smart” speakers Echo Show Bloomberg confirmed the interest of Apple in creating its own smart home assistant. A device called Siri Speaker, allegedly, for the last several months tested the company’s employees.
“Apple employees are testing the device in their homes the past few months,” wrote the publication, citing sources close to the company.
Echo Show features a 7-inch touch screen that allows users to receive replies to their requests: for example, complete information about weather forecast or a specific action when cooking the recipes. Interestingly, this is exactly what I said last week, Apple Vice President Phil Schiller, when asked about the attitude of the “smart” assistants. According to him, the voice interface is in some cases convenient, but use maps or play only the voice is uncomfortable or even not really.
Schiller, of course, did not comment on the rumors that Apple is preparing itself back on the basis of Siri, however, a detailed conversation about the limited voice control gives reason to believe that the smart column from the Californian giant will also be with the screen.
New from Amazon you can use for video playback, including for playing videos from YouTube. Echo Show also works with other Amazon. For example, you can order Amazon.com or listen to music from their personal service company, Spotify or Pandora. Support for Apple Music Show in Echo is not provided.
