The Radiohead singer compared Google and YouTube with the Nazis

Singer of British music group Radiohead Thom Yorke has accused Google and YouTube in the assignment of content just as the Nazis seized art objects during the Second world war. He told about it in interview to the Italian La Repubblica.

According to York, Google earns a lot of money, letting the ads before every video clip on YouTube. At the same time, the musicians for their works posted on the service, the company donates a small amount.

“The creators of Google and YouTube make money. A huge amount of money they get like the trawlers in the sea — they take all that’s around you,” said York.

The musician added that Google has taken control of works of art, “just as the Nazis did during the Second world war”.

“But actually during the war, did everything, even the UK is stealing the art of other countries. What is the difference between what is happening now?” — asks the musician.

In 2013, York in an interview with the Guardian noted that Apple and Google devalues music, but a few months later he made the album of Atoms for Peace in streaming services Spotify and Rdio. Solo works York also available in Apple Music, which is clearly not consistent with the voiced musician’s position of disagreement with the policy of operation of these services.

In 2007 album In Rainbows the band Radiohead offered their fans to pay as much as they will not be sorry.
