Apple has developed a smart plug for iPhone disappears after the cable is disconnected

Apple received a patent for a new type of connector for smartphones, tablets and other devices. And we are not talking about Smart Connector that debuted in the iPad Pro to directly connect the mobile device with external accessories.

The technology described in new Apple patent, consists in equipping the ports iPhone the elastomer. For normal operation of the smartphone when connecting cables and accessories the material in the connector is deformed and then recovers its original shape and size within the connector, once the cable plug is ejected.

If the technology is implemented in the final product, it will mean that the company refuses to Lightning in favor of a new type of connectors which must be under a layer of self-healing material. After disconnecting the cable, this material should take its original shape, and on the iPhone there will be no holes.

The elastomer may be applied in one or more connectors of the smartphone and tablet. Synthetic material is, by design Apple has the potential to improve the aesthetic side of mobile devices and to protect the connectors from inadvertent exposure to external factors. Users do not have to worry about the fact that this stub will be lost — after deformation it will automatically fall into place.

In total this week Apple has registered 60 new inventions. Among other innovations, the company describes the mobile device in a ceramic package. In the “shell” electronic products embedded electrically active components that make the device sensitive to touch.
