Roskomnadzor wants to include in the register Apple, Microsoft and Google

Roskomnadzor is in talks with several major foreign companies including Apple, Facebook, Microsoft and WhatsApp on inclusion in the register of the organizers of disseminating information. This was told by Deputy Minister Oleg Ivanov in an interview to “Rossiyskaya Gazeta”.

Of the company included in the register of organisers of dissemination of information or the law enforcement Agency’s request or at the initiative of the service.

“We are in direct dialogue with most of the major international IT-companies and services — Apple, Twitter, Facebook and WhatsApp, Google, Microsoft, Viber and others Are personal meetings, consultation with their representatives,” — said Ivanov.

According to officials, the company is in the process of decision-making. In addition, Roscomnadzor is ready to provide additional time for the legal procedures.

Ivanov noted that today the registry includes ten foreign companies. Among them — sharing services Depositfiles, Letitbit, messengers WeChat, Telegram and other. He added that the inclusion of an organizer of information dissemination in the registry means “the willingness of the company to work in the Russian legal field to follow the requirements of national legislation and to provide storage of information for anti-terrorist purposes”.

“As of yesterday, the register contains information about 85 the organizers of the dissemination of information — especially those who are informed about yourself in the initiative order. Foreign companies in it ten,” said Ivanov.

If the company evades from dialogue to ignore the requirements or through the media broadcasts the apparent reluctance to fulfill them, we are obliged to apply the sanctions envisaged by law, said Ivanov. In the case of the organizers of the dissemination of information is an administrative fine in the amount up to 300 thousand rubles, or lock on the territory of Russia.
