Roskomnadzor has asked Mozilla to voluntarily filter blocked in Russia sites

Roskomnadzor has suggested that the developer of the Opera browser with the ability to bypass the lock to start the voluntary filtering of resources. About it writes on Monday, “Kommersant”.

According to the publication, during the meeting of technical experts of Roskomnadzor representatives of the company, held in the early fall, they discussed the possibility of restricting access to banned in Russia sites when the browser mode to bypass the lock.

The fact of negotiations has confirmed press-Secretary of the Supervisory Department Vadim Ampelonskiy, explaining that Roscomnadzor is ready to send Opera Software list of sites to filter at the conclusion of the relevant agreement.

Currently, the dialogue continues, but to speak about any agreements prematurely, said Ampelonskiy. Technical Director of Opera Software, håkon Wium Lee refused to comment on the negotiations.
