Opinion: the pursuit of profit can lead to the collapse of Apple

Most competitors can only envy the success of Apple. However, according to analysts, such luck may turn against the company and even lead it to crash.
In 1995, two years before his return to Apple, Steve jobs contemptuously called the current authorities are greedy and insatiable.

“Greed and greed is what will eventually destroy the company from within. They were very greedy for money. Instead follow the intended path, they lead the company to a standstill. For the past four years their profit was enormous… Really, nothing good follows. They refused to work on innovative products for the sake of earnings. This choice was extremely irrational,” said jobs, speaking at Apple.

Since then, two decades had passed and yet, Apple is now the world’s leading manufacturer of smartphones and computers. Such a demonstration of seemingly endless possibilities is unlikely to combine growth and profitability. Something’s bound to go wrong.

Most Apple fans expressed extreme dissatisfaction with the availability of range of mobile device models with storage of 16 GB. Of course, the company claims that this amount should be enough for any everyday tasks. Speaking in favor of this extended functionality iOS 9, including the Thinning mode App, Apple Music and lighter weight “OSes”.

The reasons are very obvious and even logical, but they have a right to exist only in ideal conditions. In order for users to completely migrate all of their data in “the cloud” or get rid of the gigabytes of your favorite music, they will require ubiquitous and cheap Internet connection. This, apparently, is not a very long time.

To date, not all cities are equipped with LTE coverage. In most areas people are still not familiar with unlimited Internet at affordable prices. Together these causes give rise to frustration from the inability to use cloud services. Perhaps, Apple easily could solve this problem by removing line 16-Gigabyte model, replacing it with a 32-Gigabyte.

Another significant argument is the amount of RAM devices. For years, the owners of gadgets running iOS were forced to settle for reboots apps and Safari tabs due to the lack of RAM. What prevented the manufacturer to double this figure remains a mystery.

Of course, the team of Tim cook has an answer to this question. Tight integration of hardware and software can work wonders, prove in Cupertino. But it is unlikely the extra Gigabyte of RAM would hurt the overall performance of the device. We were able to see this year with the announcement of iPhone 6s.

What about the iMac and significant regression of their Fusion Drive? The volume reduction built-in flash memory from 128 to 24 GB is not like a revolution. Very unusual, but even the amount of RAM in the top models exceeds this figure several times. That is, if not greed?

Understand correctly, the author appeals to Apple to sacrifice profit for the sake of user requirements. But if the company is the undisputed leader, she has no right to sacrifice the opinions of his fans. Steve jobs hardly endorsed the path of opportunism, followed by Apple.

There is no doubt that the customers without extra claims will pay an additional $20 for the 32-Gigabyte iPhone, which really is a product “premium”. Best ecosystem on the market, the best maintenance is what attracts consumers. Just one small thing, to meet them halfway.

That is what Microsoft, releasing a unified Windows 10. Offering one-stop operating system, the Corporation from Redmond had one important goal is the creation of a single ecosystem. I’m not going to argue about the correctness of that decision, but its subtext is more than obvious. Of course, at this point to contend with Apple from Microsoft is unlikely to succeed, but over time – and why not.

Remember Google. Their ecosystem could be called a role model. The problem is the preferential orientation of the mobile device. But neither “the company of goodness”, nor Microsoft can provide seamless integration with desktop computers. Apple in this respect far ahead of them.

However, even Chrome OS gradually develops and becomes more viable. Google has enough power and money to further develop the new operating system. Of course, no comparison of MacBook and OS X out of the question, but give “good company” a little time and I’m sure the result will speak for itself.

No one condemns Apple for a speedy failure. Analytics – a special caste of people, whose errors are easily forgiven, and therefore do not take their words to heart. Perhaps the “Apple” Corporation will change priorities and will once again become what it was under Steve Jobs.
