How to use the current time as a passcode on devices with iOS 9

Modern smartphones offer reliable means to protect your personal information, because they can store a lot of confidential information. One common feature of security is a PIN code, which has become very popular due to the simplicity. However, it is also a disadvantage: anyone can Snoop your 4-digit code and enter it until the owner of the gadget has gone away. The same smartphone user has to remember yet another set of characters.

The original concept for access restrictions to the iPhone and iPad offered the developer of jailbreak tweaks Callisto. Its design allows use as a password the current time on the clock. The owner of smartphones and tablets don’t have to remember the numbers: they will always be on the screen.

For example, if the user unlocks his iPhone in the morning at 10:34, then he needs to enter four digits – 1, 0, 3, and 4. But if he will do it in the evening at 15:45, then the code will use a combination of 1, 5, 4, and 5. Due to this do not need to remember the numbers, but the attacker will not be able to spy on the PIN, because it will be constantly different.

The developers have implemented the idea in an informal application. Callisto works as follows: once installed on iPhone need to activate the password in the settings and enable the tweak. Now if you lock the gadget, it will require to enter the current time.

If you want to improve the security of your password, you can use the option of time shift. In this case, the current time value will be added any constant. For example, the owner unlocked cell phone at 13:56, and the magnitude of the shift he asked is 10. In this case, the password will not 1-3-5-6, and 1-3-6-6. Also Callisto in the settings you can enable the “reverse password”. Then enter the numbers on the clock have in the opposite direction: if the current time is 20:42, then the code combination 2, 4, 0 and 2.
