Perhaps, the new operating system will be available on iPhone 2013. This was reported by a Reddit user.
He demonstrated the test reports web engine, WebKit, developed by Apple, the iPhone 5S simulator. That is a pretty solid proof that Apple is indeed planning to release iOS 12 on this device.
This will be one of the few smartphones of the Corporation, which received 5 updates in its lifetime. Its predecessor, the iPhone 5, only 4 changed the operating system since the release (not counting the pre-installed iOS 6).
It is worth noting that even if iOS 12 will be installed on older tablets and smartphones, it does not mean that they will get all new features. Probably the iPhone 5S will get a stripped-down version of the operating system.
While found in WebKit, the information is easy to fit with the rumors that iOS 12 will be little change in the interface and new features. The focus will be on fixing bugs and improving performance.
Apple will unveil iOS 12 with macOS 10.14, tvOS 12, and watchOS 5 at WWDC 2018, which will be held on 4 June.
