For 10 months of Nougat Android 7.0 set only one in 10 users

With each release of a new update for the Android problem of supporting older devices is becoming increasingly urgent. Despite the fact that Android 7.0 Nougat debuted 10 months ago, mass migration to this OS hasn’t started yet.

Android Nougat took more than ten months to cross the 10 per cent threshold on the number of devices that use the mobile platform Google. Five months ago the figure was only 1% and yet, the system is “hopelessly slow”, experts state.

Android now enjoys Nougat 11.5% of owners of Android smartphones for the month this figure increased by 2 percentage points. The most popular version of the operating system – Marshmallow. It became available in October 2015 and now stands at 31.8 per cent, which is 0.6% more than last month. Owners of Nexus has gained access to Nougat in August. In October in sale Google Pixel preloaded with Android 7.1. Usually each new OS requires a year to occupy most of the market.

The problem with the update system on Android. Producers of the “phones” do not see the benefits to invest in the development updates. And something they can understand, after all, they still do not receive any compensation.

What’s the best way to solve this problem? Apple has decided to create their own hardware and software parts. You will then have an incentive to create a platform that will delight their users, to build loyalty and a reason to continue development of updates for them.

Google promises that with the release of Android 8.0 it will try to solve the problem of slow distribution of the OS. But such statements we have heard, so the chances that the platform will catch up with the speed of adaptation of iOS tend to zero.
