Russian Explay came in second place in the domestic tablet market, Apple dropped out of the top five leaders

In the first quarter of 2015 in Russia was delivered about 1 million tablets, which is 39.5% less than the same period last year, IDC analysts estimated. On the background of the crisis in market leaders reached a budget model, while the iPad is not even in the top five devices.

According to analysts, in monetary terms, the Russian market of tablets decreased by 65.6 per cent. The market fell due to the devaluation of the national currency and price devices because of rising input prices. The highest number of shipments accounted for by Samsung (16.2% of the market), root (7,1%), Asus (6,3%), Digma (5.6%) and Prestigio (5%). The average price of the devices by the end of the reporting period amounted to 51 USD.

Russian brand Explay appeared on the second place by sales, overtaking not only iPad, but also many other famous producers. This B-brand, not jealousy the consumer is high quality, is gaining increasing demand due to low prices, good range and extensive dealer and service network. In 2014, the smartphone Explay Fresh even received the title of best budget smartphone of Russia by a vote of half a million Russian Internet users.

Brand Explay belongs to CJSC Ekspla”, the main office is in Moscow. The company develops its products from scratch, but, like many other Russian producers, localizes Chinese counterparts.

According to the report of “Euroset” in Moscow sales of tablets in the first quarter decreased by 11% in quantity and 22% in monetary terms. Also dropped the average price for these devices. In most price segments share growth in the number of sales showed the cheapest segment of up to 5,000 rubles (from 21% to 36%). In addition, a small increase is observed in the proportion of segment from 5 000 to 10 000.

In the first quarter of 2015 was observed even more than before, the shift of demand towards tablets with SIM card. Thus, the share of devices operating over Wi-Fi, decreased to 15% in volume and 18% in monetary terms.

IPad tablet market share in volume terms fell from 27% to 13%, and in cash — from 45% to 35%, is told in “Euroset”. As in the smartphone market in Moscow has strengthened its position by Lenovo. Its share grew from 5% to 9% in volume and 4% to 9% in monetary terms. Also it was possible to observe a sharp increase in the share of the Russian vendor Oysters — from 2% to 19% in number and from 1% to 4% in revenue.
