Russia has launched a “smart” analog Instagram to search for beautiful food [video]

Russia has launched a new mobile app to search for pictures of delicious looking food. The app, called Borsch works on the basis of neural networks.

The user can enter in the search application, the names of the dishes, and in response to a list of restaurants where they cook the most beautiful. Thanks to self-learning over time, Borsch will start to offer meals depending on the user’s habits and situation — for example, cold drinks in hot weather, cocktails on Friday night and eggs Benedict on Sunday morning”.

Now Borsch can recognize about 400 types of dishes. In his catalogue contains information on institutions from eight cities: new York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Austin, Houston, Chicago, Berlin and Moscow.

As noted by the VC, in total, the launch of Borsch took four months and 5 million rubles. It is anticipated that the program monetize through advertising or collect a fee for the delivery of ready meals from restaurants. But first the team wants to gain a sufficient audience.
