KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo stated the new assumption about the appearance of the Face ID feature, introduced by Apple in iPhone X, the next smartphone of the Corporation.
According to experts, if the facial recognition system in the iPhone X will prove to be a good side next year, a similar feature will appear in all new models of Apple smartphone.
“One of the key issues of interest to investors — iPhone 2018 will be equipped with Touch ID or Face ID? We believe that this depends on several factors: first, will the Face ID positive response among iPhone users X, and, second, what technical issues Apple will face if you decide to put a fingerprint scanner below the display. If Apple decide to keep Touch ID, we believe that it would set up a scanner located in the Home button under the screen of the smartphone,” said Kuo.
While the analyst believes that the Face ID in the iPhone X will get positive user feedback, in 2018 Apple will equip all models iPhone camera TrueDepth and facial recognition.
If Apple decides to use Touch ID, it can face several difficulties. In particular, it will be difficult to predict the interaction of the fingerprint scanner embedded in the display, with the function of 3D Touch.
“The problem is that the module does all the 3D Touch panel is thicker and can affect the ability of the scanner under the screen, — said the expert. — However, if the idea of Face ID will fail, Apple will be forced to find alternative solutions and develop a version of Touch ID below the display of the iPhone”.
