“Classmates” are going to test a paid subscription for video content. About it reports “Interfax” with reference to the representative of the social network Anastasia Zhbanova. Access new options will receive both group administrators and ordinary users.
Within six months, “Classmates” plan to determine the service starts. During this time, the company intends to complete testing and to identify the relevance of a new format, partners and service users.
Zhbanova said that according to the plans of social network partners of the project should be TV channels, producers of thematic content, the Studio. Users can purchase access to individual videos and to subscribe to the service as a whole.
The representative of the company, answering the question of what kind of video will be paid, reported that “Classmates” are in the process of negotiations with content producers.
It is assumed that pay in several ways — for example, using a credit card.
In December last year, some users of “Odnoklassniki” saw an ad with a proposal to purchase a new service. In particular, the social network has offered money to add GIF image in correspondence. In January after a three-week test “Classmates” decided not to impose a fee for sending the GIF images.
According to its own data, the total number of monthly audience of the social network is about 73 million unique users. The number of registered users worldwide at the end of 2016 amounted to 290 million.
