YouTube on smartphones will be unmuted video ads

YouTube is testing a new ad format in a 6-second commercials that will run before the beginning of the video. Promotional videos promoting the goods and services, will have to watch to the very end.

Google said that the short clips are best suited for display on mobile devices. Skip this ad it will not work — buttons for quick transition to the required content is simply not available. This type of uninterruptible advertising was called Bumper.

Google will officially launch a 6-second commercial from may 1. It will be shown exclusively on smartphones and tablets, as “focused on a young mobile audience.” The old “long” while advertising disappears: short videos would only add to it, focusing the viewer on details.

Given the short duration of the “bumpers”, for maximum effectiveness of advertising these clips, the developers recommend to combine with the already known formats, such as TrueView or Google Preferred.

Music group Atlantic Records has already used six-second video to promote the new album, where all the sheaves “lit up” each of the invited musicians. Below you can see one example unmuted video ads on YouTube.
