“Beeline” has lost almost a million subscribers for the year

Over the past year, the operator “Beeline” has lost almost a million subscribers. Such data follow from the statements of the company for the third quarter of 2016.

At the end of the reporting period, the subscriber base of bee line has decreased by 2% compared to the same period last year — with 59 million subscribers to 58.1 million in Addition annual churn in the subscriber base grew from 53.7% in the third quarter of 2015 to 55% in the third quarter of 2016.

At the same time for three months, the subscriber base of bee line has grown by 700 000 users in comparison with the second quarter of 2016.

The decrease in subscriber base in annual terms, the company explains by increasing competition in the Russian market, as well as the sensitivity of customers to changes in prices due to the unstable macroeconomic situation. “Beeline” predicts that competition on the Russian Telecom market will remain tight until the end of the year.

The representative of the company Anna imasheva told RBC that the operator witnessed a decline in the migrant flow to Russia (Beeline has traditionally been a leader in the number of subscribers-migrants). “Our dealers have tried to offset this more aggressive sale strategies, but this has not led to success,” says Aybasheva. According to her, reducing the flow of migrants was reflected in mobile revenue, “but only slightly”. Negative trends in the local market operator seeks to compensate for the sale of “package” rates.

The annual decline in base growth quarter to quarter gives reason to believe that churn has increased in the overall market, said Raiffeisenbank analyst Sergey Libin. “MegaFon” and MTS have not yet submitted the report for the third quarter.
