YouTube on iPhone X plays the video in 1440p

A new version of the YouTube app allows you to play video in the format Ultra HD — 1440p — iPhone X.

Apple’s new flagship is equipped with a Super Retina display with a resolution of 2436 on 1125 points and an unusual aspect ratio of 19.5:9. This is the clearest screen among all iOS smartphones.

YouTube App was one of the first Google apps tailored to the iPhone’s display X. Version 12.43 allows you to play video in full screen mode, even on non-standard screen.

Because on YouTube there is no content written in the format of 19.5:9, the app is a little clip rollers top and bottom. However, when you view most of the video is invisible.

X iPhone users can enjoy videos in the format of 1440p. For iPhone 8 is available only 1080p format.

The playback content cannot be called wholly HRD. For the full 1440p flagship Apple does not have enough pixels. To support this format smartphone will need a resolution of 2560 by 1440 pixels, although features iPhone X pretty close to it.

In any case, the iPhone X are reproduced with greater clarity than on other smartphones that support the playback quality is only 1920 x 1080.
