“Yandex.Browser” was the second most popular in Russia

“Yandex.Browser” came in second place in popularity in Russia in the version for desktops, according to RBC with reference to the report of the company “Yandex”. As of 1 September 2015, the proportion of “Yandex.Browser” among PC users in Russia amounted to 15.4%, Opera or 14.8%, from Firefox of 14.2%. First place still holds the Google Chrome browser with a share of 40%.

“Yandex.The browser” is the youngest of the competitors, the company introduced it in 2012. According to the statistics of “Yandex”, in late 2014 browser managed to get around on visits to the Russian audience of Internet Explorer in the spring of 2015 — Firefox. On the eve of “Yandex” has presented a protective system “Yandex.Browser” Protect that will protect the transmission of user data when connected to public Wi-Fi, to inform users in case of attempt of entering passwords on the so-called “phishing” sites (used by attackers to steal data copies usual sites — social networks, banks, email, etc.) and will also check uploaded using “Yandex.Browser” files for viruses.
