Russian users can now once again order the smartphone directly from Xiaomi China. This became possible after permission from the owner of the rights to the brand Xiaomi in Russia. While customs has warned that the import can only be custom-made orders.
“In connection with numerous cases of detection by customs authorities of counterfeit phones brand Xiaomi the right holder initiated a meeting with representatives of the Chinese Internet store, after which the address of the customs service received an official notice from copyright owner authorizing boxed import by international mail goods to the address of individuals from this online store,” reads the statement of the press service of the FCS.
In the spring of 2017, buyers of Xiaomi smartphones on AliExpress complained that customs delays their parcel. The FCS explained that he had acted on the request of the company RDC Group, which through its structure of “Smart orange” owns the rights to the brand Xiaomi in Russia and opens local specialty shops.
At the end of April 2017, “Roskomsvoboda” said the citizen with the complaint for refund is ordered via AliExpress Xiaomi phone. Most often smartphones were detained at customs stations in the Urals and in the Volga region
Officially the rights to the brand Xiaomi in Russia belong to the Beijing Xiaomi Technology, as well as Trustees RDC Group, “Smart orange” and “the Consul” and “Mixtec”.
At RDC Group explained that the official channels of sales of Xiaomi smartphones are stores RDC Group, online store of Xiaomi, salons operators and leading retailers.
