Operator MTS last several years, introduces the ability to make calls over Wi-Fi and VoLTE technology. With the release of iOS 11.3 access calls over Wi-Fi and VoLTE appeared in the iPhone.
Voice over LTE (VoLTE) is one of the newest technologies of voice over a cellular network based on IP Multimedia Subsystem. VoLTE is supported on smartphones Apple, starting with iPhone 6.
The main advantages of VoLTE:
• High voice quality;
• low latency with the signal (the interlocutors hear each other almost instantly);
• during the conversation you can use the Internet
To enable VoLTE for your iPhone, you need to open Settings — > Cellular — > data Settings –> “Enable LTE” and select “Voice and data”. VoLTE only works in cases where both parties have activated this function. In Moscow, the VoLTE technology supports the Megaphone.
To enable the ability to send and receive calls over WiFi, you need to go to “Settings” –> “Phone” –> “Calls over Wi-Fi”.
