Windows 10 users will know what data Microsoft collects about them

One of the most unpleasant features of Windows 10 — the amount of information Microsoft collects about operating systems.

Marisa Rogers, an employee of the Department privacy Microsoft told TechCrunch that the company plans to release the tool “Windows Diagnostic Data Viewer”. This program will provide the user with access to all the diagnostic data device in Windows 10. The tool will soon be free to download from the official website of the company, even without a Microsoft account.

Internally, of course, such a tool exists already for a long time. With it, a normal user will be able to obtain the following information:

— General information such as the name and version of the operating system identifier and a device class, select the level of diagnostics, etc.;
— the connection settings and the configuration of the computer: properties, possibilities, information about the connected devices and network connections;
— information about the products and services that provide additional information about the performance and functionality of the device. For example, watching videos, listening to music, etc.;
— information about installed applications information about their updating;
— use of applications and additional services of the operating system.

In addition to the Windows Diagnostic tool Data Viewer, Microsoft also plans to release a small update to your Panel privacy (Privacy Dashboard), which will be called “History of activity” (Activity History), where for all data collected for system diagnostics, you can trace format news feeds.
