Why iPhone X sold poorly and that the company will introduce in the fall

The report of Ming-Chi Kuo denies the General mood of the market about the sales of the flagship Apple smartphone. He believes that the supply of iPhone X will not be so significant.

Ming-Chi Kuo claims on sales of around 18 million units, far below forecasts in the range of 20-30 million smartphones. He believed in a modest supply X fault low iPhone demand in China.

Kuo reiterates its previous forecasts regarding the model range iPhone 2018. It will be a 6.1-inch iPhone, iPhone X and a peculiar variant of iPhone X Plus. Ming-Chi Kuo suggests that Apple will no longer produce iPhone X when can increase the production of two other models.

He did not expect such a low demand in China. In the report, Kuo says that Chinese customers prefer to upgrade their smartphones often. This is confirmed by the forecasts from vendors like Oppo or Huawei. Another potential Chinese customers confused the cutout in the top of the product. Because of this “monopoly”, in their opinion, the effective area of screen is not so different from that of the 5.5-inch iPhone models.

Ming-Chi Kuo believes that Apple will sell 13 million iPhone X in the second quarter of 2018. He claims that the company sold about 62 million units, well below the previous forecast of 80 million.

Probably a model with a 6.1-inch display will cost significantly lower than the current iPhone X, in the range of 650-750 dollars. Ming-Chi Kuo believes that iPhone shipments will grow by 10 percent in 2018. This will lead to the rise of the smartphone industry as a whole.
