One of the most popular navigation apps Waze officially available for Apple CarPlay, but it can be moved on the car interface with a small tweak.
At the moment, CarPlay supports signature cards from Apple, but their functionality, especially in the Russian reality, quite limited. Therefore, many users may need more advanced alternative.
Developer Nick Franco released a video which shows the operation of Waze in the Apple CarPlay. The video shows an iPhone connected to the car system via the Lightning cable, and provides access to applications, including Waze, directly from screen media on-Board system.
The advantage of the approach lies in the fact that you don’t need to use HDMI for broadcast the screen of the phone, since the interface is embedded directly in the native interface CarPlay.
The video shows work on iOS 10.2 installed jailbreak, although there is no reason why such a system did not work with other versions of iOS.
The app developer promises in the near future to implement support for Siri. Unfortunately, information on the timing of the release of the program yet.
