The social network has completely changed the appearance of the web version. Now the official logo is not Vkontakte and VK. According to the developers of the service, the design was developed within one and a half years. Any user can try it here by clicking on the “Join” button.

Increased the width of the screen and the font. All icons are completely redrawn. Thumbnail of users avatars are now round and not square. The pictures were bigger, now they are displayed in the new layout: there are no spaces between the photos.
Section “responses” completely disappeared from the left column menu, now it’s moved to the top in the site header, the same principle is organized work of the button alerts on Facebook. If American social media she is depicted as a globe, “Vkontakte” like a bell. The user can choose to receive notifications. View likes request for adding friends, mentions, friends ‘ birthdays and other events.
In the header of the website rendered on the user’s name and a small photo, when clicked, can go to the page, change the settings or contact support. Music player is also rendered in the header of the website where you can manage the recordings.
The message section is completely redesigned. Now the recent conversations and current chat can be viewed on one screen.
In the section “news” you can now choose type of tape — chronological or intellectual. Chronological displays news in the order in which they are published. Smart will choose the most interesting for the user news, as implemented in Facebook.
In the groups section in the right-wing bloc the recommendations with popular communities. The advertising message in the left box were significantly larger.
Social network “Vkontakte” was created in October 2006 by Pavel Durov. Over 10 years of website design have changed slightly. The most notable innovation of the social network was associated with a change in the location section of the “news” in 2010. Then the news service appeared on the place where before was “the Wall”.
