Viking started the sales of SSDS with the capacity of 50 TB

Viking Technology announced the start of sales of SSD-drives series UHC Silo “extra high capacity”. Buyers now have access to the drives 25 and 50 TB.
A feature of these SSD, reflected in the title, is a huge amount of data available is the abbreviation UHC (Ultra High Capacity). Drives have size of 3.5 inches, they use flash memory type MLC NAND production SK Hynix.
The SSD is equipped with interface SAS 6 GB/s In sequential read mode, they develop speed of 500 MB/s in write mode — 350 MB/s. Drives have low power consumption — 10 Watts in standby and 16 Watts under load
Performance on operations with random access in read mode up to 60 000 IOPS in recording mode — 15 000 IOPS. It is obvious that the emphasis on volume is not the best way affected the speed of performance.
The price of SSD-drives of 25 and 50 TB is not made public and are unlikely to become public in the near future.
Note that last year Samsung started selling the SSD to 16 TB in 2.5-inch form factor. Focused PM1633a was not at home users and corporate sectors and data centers. The price was announced – around $10 000.
