Updated Outlook for iOS lets you open links in external browser

The Outlook client for iOS has received an update that enhances integration with third-party applications. In particular, now in the app settings you can set open links in Chrome, Dolphin, Opera, and others.

To change the default browser for the mobile version of Outlook, you need to go into the settings of the Browsers. If on an iPhone or iPad have a third-party browsers, they will be shown in this list. Selecting a particular application, the user initiates it from running when you use links in e-mails.

The previous update Outlook, released last week, has simplified collaborate on documents. Microsoft have tried to solve the problem of iPhone and iPad, which is that the user does not have access to the file system, and search for individual documents is a complex task.

In Outlook for iOS has long existed the Attachments tab, which gives you quick access to attached documents. Thanks to the update, the user can open the file directly in Word, Excel or PowerPoint and then make edits. After saving your changes, just press the “back” button, and the modified document will be attached to the response letter.

If the user wishes to send the document to a new destination, it can open in Word, PowerPoint or Excel the “Share” tab, the option “Send via Outlook”. After clicking on this option will open a window to create a new message with the attached document.

Microsoft noted that the most effective method of joint work with documents is the use of OneDrive cloud storage, “but sometimes email is required”. Users of third-party cloud services also did not remain without attention: after updating Outlook client for iOS has received integration with Dropbox, Box, Google Drive and iCloud Drive.
