Universal search Apple TV got Apple Music support

The feature “Universal search” in the Apple TV now supports many popular services. Apple added support for the search for a number of third-party apps, including BBC America, FX Now and Apple Music.

“Universal search” makes searching for content on Apple TV easier than ever. Appeared the possibility to simultaneously search for shows, movies and music in all compatible programs without the need to launch a separate application.

This week Apple added new content providers to work with the “Universal search”. There was also added integration with Apple Music. Support for the following applications:

  • 9Now (Australia)
  • BBC America (USA)
  • C More (Norway, Sweden)
  • CBC (Canada)
  • Classix (USA, Australia, Canada)
  • FX Now (Canada)
  • Hopster (France)
  • OCS (France)
  • Oxygen (USA)
  • SBS (Australia)
  • tenplay (Australia)
  • Tou.TV (Canada)
  • Treehouse (Canada)
  • Viaplay (Norway, Sweden)

Access to “Universal search” has received all supported applications without having to update software on Apple TV. Feature required Apple TV 4 and Apple TV 4K installed tvOS 11.
