The spread of a new symmetrical USB connector-constrained small amount of compatible with this standard peripherals, but the situation is gradually improving. Lately, many drive manufacturers demonstrated new solutions with connector type C. However, from manufacturers other peripherals such enthusiasm is not observed. Transcend was one of the companies presenting appropriate solutions with support for USB-C.

The new product is a “stick”, which is characterized by the presence of connectors USB 3.1 Type-A on one side and USB 3.1 Type-C, on the other. The storage device JetFlash 890S allows fast data transfer between Mac, PC, smart phones, tablets and other devices, regardless of operating system.

It is expected that the standard Type-C will be actively supported by major computer manufacturers, including Apple, Google and Asus already released a laptop with the appropriate connectors. This connector, as is known, is characterized by symmetry with respect to two planes passing through its center. In practice, this means that the user is always right the first time will be the proper way to insert a drive into a compatible device.

On the other side of the drive there is a standard connector, USB 3.1 Type-A, which can be used in conjunction with USB 2.0 ports. Compact flash drives are probably the most popular type of peripheral devices with USB interface, so the prevalence of a connector depends on the manufacturers of such devices. Transcend and other manufacturers corresponding to the periphery soon will present even more new products with connector type C, and thereby to contribute to its spread. While systems equipped with this connector, available for users, not so much, which leads to caution producers corresponding to the periphery.
