Today Apple has officially dropped support for iPhone 4

Monday, October 31, Apple stopped support of iPhone 4, introduced in 2010. This fact drew the attention of the French resource Europe1.

iPhone 4 was in the list of “Obsolete and end-of-life products” Apple. This means that the manufacturer and its authorized service centers will no longer accept the phone for repair.

As noted in the Apple legacy (vintage) products are those that were discontinued more than 5 and less than 7 years ago. Apple does not serve them outside of the state of California, USA.

End-of-life (obsolete) — those that are not issued more than 7 years. The company does not serve end-of-life device and does not provide any exceptions. Service companies do not have the possibility to order spare parts for end-of-life products.

Last month, Apple dropped support for the CDMA iPhone 4 and now we are talking about another version of the smartphone — iPhone 4 GSM. The status of “vintage” has the iPhone 4, means that the Communicator formally can be repaired in the service centers of California. Completely deprived of the support device in the status obsolete.

Apart from the iPhone 4 to the list of retired got the 13-inch MacBook Air 2010 edition, as well as wireless routers AirPort Extreme 802.11 n (3G) and AirPort Time Capsule 802.11 n (2G).
