Smart column HomePod can be used as loudspeaker during a conversation on the phone. To take or make a call will have on the iPhone.
Column HomePod will go on sale February 9, and at the start of its opportunities will be limited. For example, you can’t ask Siri to call somebody or to answer an incoming call. This will still need a smartphone.
“To talk on FaceTime Audio or cellular connection, you need to make a call on your iPhone and then redirect it to the HomePod,” it says on the Apple website.
But Siri in the HomePod will be able to read and send messages to users.
“Send messages via the HomePod, using only your voice. And when you get a response, ask Siri to read it out loud,” writes Apple on the page with description of smart columns.
Perhaps in the future, the company did add the ability to call directly from the speaker, bypassing other devices.
HomePod – smart is a column controlled using Siri. It is equipped with seven speakers, six microphones and a subwoofer to provide a clean and bright sound.
