In neighboring Ukraine might block access to social networks “Vkontakte” and “Classmates”. This was stated by Advisor to the Minister of internal Affairs of Ukraine Zorian Shkiryak, according to which these services are controlled by Russian special services.
“2017 should be the year of protection of Ukraine’s information space from Russian propaganda. Personally, I am convinced that one of the first decisions should be to block the Russian social networks “Vkontakte” and “Classmates”, which today is completely controlled and managed by the Russian intelligence services”, — lead the local editions of the words of the adviser to the interior Minister.
Russian social networks contain “anti-Ukrainian content,” said Shkiryak.
Interior Ministry spokesman expressed hope that the Ministry of education to support the blocking of popular social networks. In his opinion, teachers and psychologists should tell the students about the dangers of “Vkontakte” and “Classmates”.
Earlier Ukrainian politicians and law enforcement officers repeatedly urged to boycott “Vkontakte” and “Classmates”, to close the account and go to Western social networks. However, to block them no one has yet guessed.
According to Factum Group, in September 2016, “Vkontakte” was the most popular social network among Internet users in Ukraine, in second place is “Odnoklassniki” and only on the third – Facebook.
