The photographer with the app, found the profiles of random people in “Vkontakte” on their pictures in the subway

Photographer from St. Petersburg Egor Tsvetkov has launched a project, within which he finds a page of random commuters on social networks. About it reports a Bird in Flight.

Your Flowers project called “YOUR FACE IS BIG DATA” (Your face is big data). Using the FindFace service based on face recognition technology face images, he shoots people, sidawi before him in the subway car, and then looking for them on social networks using publicly available software. Thus he learns much about human life, not engaging with them in personal contact, and can associate it with a real view image on the Internet.

“Technology development takes away from the power structures of monopoly on the identification of the person on photo/video and hands over the possibility for any interested. Without realizing it, people continue to adhere to familiar patterns of behaviour, closing to the public and open social networks,” — said the author of the project.

“The ability to quickly anonymous search page of the human social network in seconds transforms the impersonal object in a close friend,” added Flowers.

FindFace app was launched at the end of February 2016. With its help, users are able to find the person and contact them in just one photo. For the first ten days of operation number of service users has exceeded 100 000 people.
