OWC, known in the market as manufacturer of accessories for Mac, has expanded its activities. The aspiration to correspond to modern market trends, the manufacturer decided to launch a new category of gadgets to empower the professional line of Apple laptops.
In OWC suggested the solution to the main problem new MacBook Pro — the presence of only USB ports. Yes, the interface allows by means of adapters to connect portable computers to almost any peripherals. But, first, such accessories cost a lot, and secondly, take up too much space and sometimes interfere.
OWC DEC is an aluminum docking station that connects to the laptop. The device made in the form of a thin stand is designed to significantly expand the possibilities of “Proshka” in connecting peripherals and various devices.
The solution provides the user with up to 4TB of flash memory, slot for memory cards SD, USB 3.0, Gigabit Ethernet and others. On rendering additional connectors are not marked, but the manufacturer promises to implement them in the final version of the product. In fact, the buyer DEC loses only in size, but the ports collection will only acquire. Among other things, the device acts as a passive cooling system for MacBook Pro.
OWC plans to start selling the DEC in the spring of 2017. The prototype device will be presented at CES 2017 in Las Vegas.
