The organizers of the terrorist attacks in Paris have used WhatsApp and Telegram

French authorities believe that the terrorists staged a series of bombings in Paris in November, used a popular mobile messaging with encryption of the negotiations. About this newspaper The Washington Post.

“Investigators said earlier that the messengers are WhatsApp and Telegram were found in the smart phones of terrorists. But we now know that these programmes were used by the attackers to negotiate with each other and planning attacks,” reads the article.

Both messenger are free and provide the ability to encrypt. In this case, as the newspaper notes, “these technologies (encryption) make it impossible for law enforcement surveillance of a conversation”.

The representative of the Paris Prosecutor’s office declined to comment on The Washington Post information about it.

Deny access to Tor is proposed as counter-terrorism measures. Assume that throughout France the network connection will be “prohibited and restricted” (as that is what will be implemented is not specified). The reason for such measures was a series of terrorist attacks in Paris and the suburbs on the night of November 14. The attack killed 130 people, injured more than 350. Responsibility for the attacks was assumed by the terrorist group “Islamic state” (IG), is prohibited in Russia.
