If you follow the news of the fashion world and just love to buy things, then you have definitely heard about the big problem of this market segment related to overproduction. There are so many products produced that they simply do not buy up. It was against this background that a large eco-initiative appeared about the rational consumption and processing of what we did not need initially.
One of the leaders in the conservation movement has become the Nike brand, which every year is increasing and increasing the number of environmentally friendly products, and even reducing its carbon footprint thanks to new production methods.
What impressed us most now is a new initiative to create one of the most sustainable running shoes in Nike's entire history. This idea did not remain in drafts, but was embodied in the form of a full-fledged release called the Nike Air VaporMax 2020.
What's so green about them?
Here are our five simple explanations:
The Air balloon is made from 75% recycled materials, which makes it not only comfortable, but also safer for the environment;
The upper of the pair is made from a new version of Flyknit stretch synthetic material, which is made up of 67% waste, including plastic bottles;
The tongue and insole were also made from recycled materials. There, the percentage is 50 and 80, respectively;
The heel insert is TPU material. Its designers and Nike manufacturing department have made it 60% greener;
The entire outsole is made from recycled rubber.
The Nike VaporMax impressed us not only with its eco-friendly initiatives, but also with small innovations in terms of comfort. The first thing that impressed us was the anchorage system implemented through the heel of the shoe. This system works by tensioning special interlocking elements. You pull – the leg is locked.
We would also like to highlight the fact that the usual lacing has disappeared from the pair – now there is a special block for fixing the entire foot.
