Opel company shared plans to integrate into their cars automotive technology Apple CarPlay and Android Auto operating system software for full-time multimedia systems. Be the first to support both systems will start Astra hatchback new generation.
iOS, set to “Astra”, will be able to support applications such as Apple Music, Maps, iHeartRadio, Stitcher, Beats Music. A list of apps Android Auto is somewhat broader: in addition to corporate programs like Google maps and player Play Music, technology will allow to use such apps like WhatsApp, Skype, ICQ and Spotify. Both “OSes” will work on the multimedia complexes with Touch R700 and Navi 900 IntelliLink.
After the premiere of Astra, in 2016, to support both systems start models Karl, Adam, Corsa and Insignia. At the same time, the same changes occur with the platform Chevrolet models.
Opel Astra of new generation will be built on global modular platform of General Motors, called D2XX. The car will be lighter than its predecessor at 120-200 pounds. In addition, in the options list of the hatchback will enter svetodioda matrix headlamps.
Premiere of the new Opel Astra will be held this autumn at the Frankfurt motor show.
