The musicians are not happy with Apple Music interface

A distinctive feature of the streaming service Apple Music is Connect — the communication service for musicians and audience. The contractor can share with the listeners on the page in Connect news and upload additional materials such as videos and demos from the upcoming releases.

Nikita Stashevsky from Moscow indie-rock group Mana Island told TJ about his impressions of working with Apple Music from the musician. For those who publish the music, he said, the service leaves much to be desired.

“I was given the opportunity to publish content once I tied my Apple ID to a group page. To use while not convenient: it is unclear the number of our subscribers, no notifications about likes and comments. Theoretically, people who ever bought our songs are automatically subscribed to us in to Connect, and it should be a large base. But tools accurate assessment yet,” he said.

“Social” (broadcasts in one way listeners) function Connect reminded Stashevsky maximally simplified version of Twitter: there is only a text field and the ability to attach various content from your computer and from your phone or tablet.

As an average listener, Nikita appreciated Apple Music positively. The only thing he has caused confusion is the inability to see the list of all the tracks, under which he placed the huskies. “I would like to be unloading what you limnol to those songs you can easily revert back. Then you can finally forget about music from Vkontakte and other services,” he added.

The global release of Apple Music took place on 30 June. To use the service within the first three months are free, in the future, the subscription will be $ 169 per month. To gain access to Apple Music, you need to update iTunes to version 12.2 or iOS device to version 8.4. Software version operating Android will be released this fall.
