The smartphone companies Oppo and Vivo can officially appear in Russia, according to RBC with reference to the representative of MTS Dmitry Solodovnikov. The mobile operator is negotiating the cooperation with the company BBK Electronics, which manufactures smartphones under these brands.
“Probably, MTS, the largest non-food retailer, may be seen as a way out of these brands on the Russian market”, — have declared in MTS.
Recall units owned by BBK Oppo and Vivo in the past year was among the top 5 most successful providers of smart phones. China was in the lead Oppo, Vivo thus took the third place. According to MTS in Russia last year, led Samsung, Apple, ZTE, Lenovo and Fly.
Solodovnikov didn’t mention the time during which the products of Oppo and Vivo may appear in Russia. According to the source, “Beeline” is also negotiating with the major Chinese brands which are not yet represented on the Russian market.
The source recalls that in the spring of 2013 was the company “OPPO digital”, which ceased to exist a year later, releasing several budget models. The General Director of “OPPO digital” Eugene Zemskov said that the launch was successful, but actual sales were lower than expected.
According to estimates by leading analyst Mobile Research Group of Eldar Murtazin, the Russian users have purchased a small number of smartphones, Oppo and Vivo, imported into Russia from other countries.
