“The megaphone” has established a record on speed of the mobile Internet

The record for data transmission speeds of mobile Internet was recorded during matches of the ice hockey world championship in Moscow and St. Petersburg. Data transmission speed was up to 450 MB/s. About it reports TV channel “360” with reference to the press service of “MegaFon”. Previously these data speeds in the area of stadiums to achieve was not possible.

“To ensure uninterrupted video streaming through the app MegaFon.TV and also to ensure that our subscribers had the opportunity, not being distracted from watching the match, instantly upload as many photos and videos with vivid moments of games, we have installed equipment with a maximum data transfer speed of up to 450 megabits per second and activated the special network settings for maximum pass Internet traffic”, — said Alexey Semenov, Director of the Moscow branch of the company.

To achieve this speed in the stadiums “VTB the Ice Palace” in Moscow and in St. Petersburg complex “Jubilee” had been installed base station 3G and 2G. They provide a communication even when a large volume of simultaneous calls. In the network were also integrated additional base station 4G+.

In a press-service of the operator said that the modernization of the base stations used during the world Cup, was held in result of “Megaphone” communication and the Internet during the Olympic games in Sochi.

Earlier this week it was reported that MTS has an agreement with a telecommunications equipment manufacturer Nokia on cooperation in the field of development of networks 5G. The companies plan to deploy a test segment networks of the fifth generation on one of the sports facilities for the world Cup.
