The main supplier of Apple confirmed that the iPhone 8 will receive a waterproof case and wireless charging

This writes the Nikkei Asian Review, citing a statement by the head of the company Wistron, made at a meeting with shareholders.

According to the source, the next-generation iPhone will have two functions that everyone is waiting for. First, the unit will be protected from water according to the standard IP68, ie would dive without consequences to a depth of 1 meter for 30 minutes. The current flagship Apple certified with a rating of IP67 for protection from water and dust, that is able to transfer the dip to no more than 30 minutes.

The second innovation in the iPhone 8 will support wireless charging. All the details were not disclosed, but this innovation will definitely be in demand among users.

If confirmed previous leaks, the two other new smartphones, in particular iPhone 7s iPhone 7s Plus get at least one of these functions. In particular, the eve it was reported that the smartphone will be clothed in the glass case to support wireless charging.

Last week it was reported that the producers of partners Apple has started mass production of components for three new smartphones — 4.7-inch and 5.5 iPhone 7s-iPhone 7s Plus inch and 5.8-inch iPhone 8 with AMOLED-display. All three versions should receive the body of reinforced glass with a metal frame.

According to analysts, the supply of iPhone 8 with AMOLED-display reached 50-55 million in the second half of the year, while the updated iPhone is 25-30 million.
