The main mystery of the jubilee Apple

Apple will unveil new smartphones only a few months, but the hype around the upcoming device does not subside. Anniversary the flagship should get the OLED display from edge to edge, support for augmented reality and many other innovations that will mark the biggest update in the history of the brand.

For the first time in many years, the question of the name of the next Apple smartphone is still open. According to rumors, this year the manufacturer will release three models: the iPhone 7S iPhone 7S Plus and premium option with a 5.8-inch OLED screen.

According to multiple sources, a high level novelty may be called iPhone 8. This is due to the fact that the company will introduce a completely new form factor, and such a major update just can’t come up with a prefix “S”.

Recently, reports emerged that the device will be called iPhone Edition. If the manufacturer will release the iPhone 8 and iPhone 7S iPhone 7S Plus, two other models will seem outdated. To call the premium version of the “iPhone Edition” is a great way to release three smartphones, but not to alienate buyers from the more affordable options.

For anybody not a secret that Apple simplifies naming scheme branded devices. Now there is no iWatch, or iMusic iTV — instead, Apple Watch, Apple Music and Apple TV. Therefore, it is probable that the company will name the flagship of the “Apple iPhone” without any additional symbols. The only problem is that the smartphone is updated every year — can lead to confusion when entering subsequent models.

Ken Segal, who has long collaborated with Steve jobs, recently released its own version of the schema names of the smartphones:

  • iPhone 8
  • iPhone 8 Plus
  • iPhone 8 Pro
  • iPhone 8 Mini

Thus, users will be able to distinguish between standard, wide angle, advanced and compact versions of flagships. In addition, it makes sense to completely abandon the prefix “S”, since such updates are usually perceived by users as insignificant.

If this year the manufacturer will release the iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone 8 Pro, it will help to organize models in the lineup. Only the name iPhone 8 mini looks a bit doubtful. Most likely, the company will retain the iPhone series SE.
