The head of Roskomnadzor warned about the responsibility, instant messengers and social networking for violation of the Russian legislation. The statement published on the official website of the Department.
“I want to emphasize that strict compliance with the requirements of the Russian legislation in order to ensure information security of the Russian citizens is mandatory for all Internet resources, including social networks and instant messaging”, – stated in the message of Alexander Zharov.
On Thursday, the state office of public Prosecutor of Russia has demanded from Roskomnadzor to block material on the Internet, justifying the activities of banned international terrorist organizations. As explained in the Prosecutor’s office, materials of an extremist and terrorist nature were identified during systematic monitoring by the state office of public Prosecutor of the Russian segment of the Internet.
“The identified information resources of the nationalist wing, including “Sputnik and pogrom”, “Russian sector”, “Right view” and others. Also there are numerous materials justifying activity is prohibited in Russia organizations “Right sector”, the “Islamic state of Iraq and the Levant” (formerly ISIS ), “dzhebhat an-Nusra” and other terrorist groups fighting in Syria,” — said in a Supervisory Agency.
Previously Roskomnadzor said that the Telegram was one of the main areas of dissemination of terrorist propaganda, coordinating the actions of terrorist groups, and more.
June 23, the head of Roskomnadzor Alexander Zharov spoke personally to the Creator of Telegram, Pavel Durov with a request to provide information about the company, administering the messenger Telegram, is required under Russian law to work in Russia. Otherwise, the messenger promised to block on the territory of Russia.
Durov agreed to the inclusion of the messenger in the register of organizers of information dissemination, which leads Roscomnadzor, on the basis of data on the company from open sources. The Durov noted that the Telegram will not provide access to the correspondence users and to comply with the requirements of the “law of Spring”.
