The Germans showed a concept iPhone 6k with a QWERTY keyboard [video]

In early November, BlackBerry has started selling a smartphone Priv — of its first product on the Android platform. Opinions about the new product, made in the form factor of a slider with “creeping” QWERTY-keyboard, was polar. One called the device “one of the best Android smartphones”, others say “wouldn’t wish it on your worst enemy”.

The canadian unit left no one indifferent. Designers from the German Studio CURVED/labs have even imagined how would look like an iPhone equipped with a QWERTY keyboard in the style of Priv.

A resource produced renders a smartphone called “iPhone 6k”, inspired by the ideas of the BlackBerry phone. iOS device made in the form factor of the “telescopic” candy bar and allows you to use a full physical keyboard.

The functionality of the smartphone is built around a sliding keyboard unit. The latter is equipped with backlight and touch input: the application window can be scrolled with gestures, if you do swipe up to display additional characters, and a swipe down will insert the word suggested by the predictive technology.

The question remains weight distribution and required pull-out keyboard for smartphone with a large screen. Although the idea is quite interesting.
