The Galaxy S8 found a function that “envy even the iPhone 8”

Tomorrow in Russia will start selling the new flagship smartphone Samsung Galaxy S8. The device is equipped with “infinite” curved at the edges of the screen, scanner iris, a 12-megapixel camera, support for voice assistant Bixby, moisture protection standard IP68. Also the novelty has a function of transmitting the audio stream simultaneously on two connected devices, with support for Bluetooth 5.0.

Galaxy S8 is built around the main idea — to create a frameless smartphone earlier than others. And with this perspective came a decent machine with a beautiful appearance. But if we consider novelty as the competitor of iPhone, for Samsung all is not so rosy, despite the innovation: S8 exists only for the sake of it. First of all, the frameless smartphone is not so convenient, and use special he brings. Of course, the videos and movies on Galaxy S8 look great, but it’s the only successful case, and other reasonable explanation for such long screens there.

Creating a screen, the developers forgot about other important elements. Camera and performance here at the level of last year’s phones before the fingerprint scanner you have to reach the index finger, which continually strives to stain the camera lens, and a voice assistant and the firmware is banal is not completed yet.

However, the Galaxy S8 is teeming with the most advanced technologies and with this iPhone to be reckoned with. Bluetooth 5.0 isn’t the only innovative interface in the South Korean flagship. The Samsung was first to market with support for the “Gigabit LTE”. This technology is at an early stage of development, but mobile operators in the US have already begun to upgrade their networks.

Gigabit LTE named so because the speed of data transfer reaches a peak of 1 Gigabit per second. Such speed provide advanced fixed Internet. According to the American operator T-Mobile, network Gigabit LTE allows you to load a 2 hour video in 15 seconds.

Will there be Gigabit LTE in iPhone 8, announcement of which will take place next autumn? In CNET believe this is unlikely. The fact that the supplier of modems for smartphones Apple are two companies Qualcomm and Intel. At the moment only the first to offer modems with support for Gigabit LTE. Thus, Apple will be forced to limit the speed in modems Intel, to equalize different versions iPhone. The company already did that with the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus.

Of course, the question need Gigabit LTE in the current situation remains open. Telecom operators are in various States of upgrading their networks to match this technology. It will take several years before a GB LTE may become relevant for owners of smartphones. But in further support of this interface can be decisive when choosing a mobile device. Unless, of course, the Russian operators would have to make tariffs with unlimited Internet traffic.
