The FBI arrested a suspect in the theft of naked photos of celebrities from iCloud

In USA arrested 36-year-old Ryan Collins from Lancaster, Pennsylvania, who is accused of large-scale hacker attack on iCloud users. According to investigators, from November 2012 to September 2014, the American sent an email letter on behalf of Apple and Google, which asked to send the usernames and passwords of accounts. The obtained data Collins used to log into the accounts from which they stole photos of people in the Nude. Some copies of pictures he had downloaded from iCloud.

Victims of the alleged hacker were more than 100 people, among them Jennifer Lawrence, Anna Kendrick, Kelly garner, Alexandra Chando, Mary-Kate Olsen, Rihanna, Avril Lavigne. The man pleaded guilty only in that hacked accounts. The blame for publishing the photo, he denies.

Previously, the FBI uncovered a part of the evidence provided by victims of theft stars. Celebrities themselves are referred to only by initials. Some reported that a portion of the leaked to the network photo was stored on their smartphones, but nobody was sent. The victims confirmed that they came phishing emails. This is consistent with the statement made by Apple after the appearance of photos in the network. The company said that the leak of personal data not linked to a vulnerability in iCloud, but was the result of a hacker attack phishing. The statement was a response to recent media speculation about how it could be done by hacking accounts.

The case will be transferred to the court of the city of harrisburg, Pennsylvania. It is known that at least 50 of 72 iCloud account and Google account were compromised. Collins faces up to 5 years imprisonment.
