In the near future tariffs for mobile communications and the Internet due to the entry into force of the “Spring package”, which among other things would oblige operators to store within six months all transmitted traffic, will not grow. This was stated by Minister of communications and mass communications Nikolay Nikiforov. According to him, the relevant provision will come into force only in 2018, so there is no risk that prices will rise this year.
Previously, the operators complained that the requirements of storage traffic and information about the user connections will require trillions of investment in the purchase and maintenance of appropriate equipment, so they will have 2-3 times to increase the value of their services. Himself Nikiforov also said that rates could rise, and his rating was even higher: according to his forecast, they can increase fourfold.
Therefore, the Ministry of communications is currently considering the need to amend the “Spring package”, said Nikiforov at the meeting of President Vladimir Putin with government members. “If necessary, further amendments to the relevant law, they will be prepared and submitted to the government in the autumn session of the State Duma”, — said the Minister.
Putin himself at the same meeting instructed the government to quickly organize the production of equipment necessary for performance of the requirements of the legislation. The issue should be engaged “their businesses,” he said. Now the Russian enterprises this equipment almost not released, but the Ministry of communications together with the Ministry of industry and trade has already prepared appropriate technical specifications, said Nikiforov.
At the same time at a press conference in TASS Deputy economic development Minister Oleg Fomichev spoke in a different vein. He agreed with the Ministry of communications that will need to work together with the state Duma on refining certain provisions of the law, the understanding of how it should work in real life. “While this understanding is not” — said Fomichev.
The question of equipment for the implementation of the law he perceives very pessimistic. “As far as we saw the rating when this issue was discussed, this class of equipment so many in and abroad of nowhere, in fact, to date, no”, — assured the official.
