The best of the best 2016: top applications for iPhone, iPad and Mac by Apple

At WWDC 2016 Apple held a prize Apple Design Awards. This year awards were given to the developers of apps for iPhone and iPad, and creators of programs for Mac and Apple TV. In the list of winners includes 10 services and 2 student project.


Traditionally competed in contest the developers of those apps for iOS and OS X that can boast the most original and comfortable design. Among the most well-designed and aesthetically pleasing applications this year were several games, as well as software for learning, planning, and some other software products. Separately, Apple has opted for the two best student project — Linum (iOS) and Dividr (iOS).

The prize Apple Design Awards are awarded since 1997 for the most notable applications created for Apple technology third party developers. The announcement of the list of the winners took place during WWDC, which opened Monday, June 13, in San Francisco, and will run until June 17.

  • Complete Anatomy from 3D4Medical — app for learning anatomy medical students and professionals. The service allows you to see the detailed 3D models human body without long downloads and cumbersome interface, said Apple.

  • Streaks from Zervaas Enterprises — service to perform tasks with the development of habits. The user can set up to six targets, which can be pre-programmed schedule. The application for the simple design and convenient work with the Apple Watch.

  • Zova — Personal Trainer — application for self fitness. The service allows you to perform the exercises, watching examples on your iPhone or Apple TV.

  • — service for joint editing and discussion of the videos. The application is completely written in Swift and work with Final Cut Pro X, and its design allows you to conveniently communicate with colleagues on the project.

  • Ulysses from The Soulmen GbR — text editor for writers, journalists, students and bloggers for Mac, iPad and iPhone. The app allows you to write texts without being distracted by external stimuli, and to move quickly from one device to another.

  • Chameleon Run from Noodlecake Studios Inc. — a popular game for iPhone, iPad and Apple TV. The application won Apple Design Awards thanks to “great” graphics, visual effects, convenient administration and attention to detail.

  • Lara Croft GO from Square Enix turn — based puzzle in the universe of Lara Croft. “This simple but addictive puzzle game designed to be easy to learn and difficult for artists,” says Apple.

  • INKS from State of Play Games — a game for Apple mobile devices. It brings pinball to a new level, offering players an explosive mixture of excitement from the classic game with the task for these tactics and create stunning paintings of the ball on the canvas, note to Apple.

  • Auxy Auxy Music Creation from music app to create tracks from mobile devices. Apple chose this service for the high performance, integration with Spotlight and 3D Touch and a high level of customer involvement.

  • djay Pro, from algoriddim GmBH app for DJs that allows you to mix up to four tracks simultaneously. This service has been awarded the Apple Design Award in 2011, he was awarded for the active use of Apple technologies, high performance and support across devices.

  • Linum — student project Joaquin Vila (Joaquin Vila). It’s the puzzle where you connect dots on the screen in positions where they should be located. Apple celebrates “clean” the app interface and simple rules of the game, as well as extensive use of Game Center and other technology companies.

  • Dividr — student project Josh Digmann, Patrick Pistor and Eric Lidice. This is a platformer in which the player need to be square between the obstacles and collect coins. The game supports 3D Touch and completely written in Swift.
