The Apple warranty does not cover water damage “waterproof iPhone 7”

One of the most interesting features of the new iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus has become a sealed housing. Information about it appears on the official website of the company, namely the class indicated protection devices.

Case iPhone 7 corresponds to the class of IP67 according to IEC 60529. This means that the smartphone is fully protected against dust and can withstand short-term immersion to a depth of 1 m. However, the iPhone 7 should not be too zealous, checking the water-resistance smartphone.

On the website Apple says that iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus protected from splash and dust and moisture and is tested in the laboratory. The company noted that the water resistance is not constant, it may decrease as a result of normal operation. Users are advised to follow the instructions, which describes the cleaning procedure and drying iPhone before recharging.

“Resistance to splashing water and dust is not a permanent condition and may be reduced in cases of natural wear. Do not attempt to charge the iPhone if it were under water. Wipe and clean the iPhone according to the instructions in the user’s guide,” – noted in the Apple.

There’s also the company says that the warranty does not cover damage caused by contact with liquid. That is waterproof iPhone still can skip the water and is not a warranty case.
