The number of downloads of Telegram in Russia after threat blocking dramatically increased messenger came in third place in the top 10 in the App Store, ahead of “Vkontakte”.
According to analyst firm App Annie, from 22 to 26 June, the Telegram has soared from 15th place by number of downloads among free programs for the iPhone. In addition, the service has entered the top three most popular searches in the categories of “social networking” and “instant messengers”. In the Google Play app Telegram over the same five days has risen from 31st to 20th place.

In this regard, Roskomnadzor said that the service should be blocked in Russia.
Telegram founder Pavel Durov has warned that after blocking messenger correspondence of Russian officials, including personal communication with friends and “sensitive data”, go into the US-controlled cloud Apple iCloud and Google Drive.
The Kremlin is not too worried about the possible blocking of Telegram in Russia. If the messenger is blocked, the press service of the Kremlin will begin to use other services, said the press Secretary of the President Dmitry Peskov.
“If the services of this messenger are not available, then move on to another view which will be more convenient. In this case there is also a competition, a choice,” — said Peskov reporters.
However, he did not comment on the statement by the Creator of the messenger of Pavel Durov that a request of Roskomnadzor to provide the keys to decrypt the message violates article of the Constitution on the privacy of correspondence.
